Coming right here to the Cheyenne Civic Center in the middle of Summer, we’re bringing the one and only Joe Bonammasa to the stage for a night of raging in the tune of G - or, should we say, to the tune of Jazz. Coming right here on his annual trip across America as the sun shines ever so brightly, Joe brings us the soothing sounds of his newest project released this past Spring. The first was a collaboration with powerhouse singer Mahalia Barnes, one of the most impressive female vocalists to come out of Australia, and her band The Soul Mates on an album of Betty Davis covers called Ooh Yea! – The Betty Davis Songbook, which explores tracks from Davis’ sexy, raw funk records of the early 70s. Next is the CD, DVD and Blu-ray Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks, a tribute to Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf that was filmed last summer to a sold-out 9,000 person crowd at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Glide Magazine called it “one of the best live blues albums released in the last decade.” So YES folks - you DO have to catch him here when he gets on stage: because when he’s gone, he’s gone! Joe Bonammasa is a blues rock living legend - up there with the greats like John Mayall and Stevie Ray Vaughan. His career started in his home state of New York at the young age of twelve when he opened up for B.B. King (!!!), and he quickly rose the ranks as one of the all time greats way before he could buy himself a drink at the bar or even drive a car. Known for his emotional and super real lyrics, his guitar is the gold star that makes him one of the most sought after performers in the world. There’s debate on whether he’s a better singer or better guitar player - but we don’t care much to be honest. We just care about his life changing performances, and about all of us being there in the crowd when he takes the stage. And with 11 Billboard number 1 albums on the Blues charts over his career - we know he’s going to bring out all the hits when he comes to the stage.
